Our tax code is stupid. It puts a large burden on those that
benefit the least from the loopholes. Sales tax, sin tax , etc.
these taxes have a much larger impact on the poor then on
the rich. The rich find ways to “be smart” and not pay taxes.
The poor do not have the income or avenues to be “smart”.
So in many ways we literally balance the ledger by taxing
the poor and taking away the little that they have and
giving more to the rich. The part about the language of
love is really about behavior being language. What you do is
who you are more than what you say. So you can talk however
you want, you can say you’re a religious man but you live in
opulence and take from the poor—then that is who you really
are.
