about

The lyrics for Perfect Wound have been inspired by a
modern day healing story that was shared with me in
my work with homeless veterans.  Shianne Eagleheart is
a Seneca woman who runs a healing center in Guerensey,
Ohio called the Red Bird Center.   This modern day healing
story is about the power of love.  We are damned by our
actions we can’t escape the evil that we do except through
love.  We have a choice to continue the cycle of oppression,
hate, violence or we can heal ourselves, our oppressors, our
community through love.  A simple concept that is very
difficult to put into action.   This isn’t bad things
happen because you did something bad and deserve
something bad.  This is the evil you do radiates out from
you and will rest in your bones.   This is the good that you
do and love that you share will also spread from you and
rest in your bones.   We all become wounded. Now what are
you going to do with that wound.? In many ways this is a
call to action to not be Damned.

lyrics

By the four shores and the heavens above
You cannot hide from this, you cannot escape from this
By the four shores and the abyss below
Rising tide be missed, this will be missed
The perfect wound contracted from the world
And given back to the world
The perfect wound
No matter how
Far you run
The Gods have
Decided your fate
You’ll be damned and damned you’ll be
